Your Visit
Prior to each visit, please make sure you have eaten either a small meal or snack. Receiving acupuncture on an empty stomach can lead to fainting and other ill-desired effects. Additionally, please wear loose and comfortable clothing that will give access to parts of the body just above the knees and elbows. In the event that a part of the body needs to be treated and is covered by tight clothing, a gown/towel will be provided. We want to ensure you are as safe and comfortable as possible during your treatments.
During each visit, we will discuss your progress and go over any questions, concerns, and new methods to be integrated into your treatment plan. After this, we will relocate to the bodywork table and begin treatment starting with pulse and tongue diagnosis, followed by the application of acupuncture, and any other needed modalities. If your case will be further benefitted by any Chinese herbal formulas/supplements, those will be discussed as well.
Your first visit is ~90-minutes in length, which includes a comprehensive intake, followed by a full treatment.
All follow-up visits are ~60 minutes in length.
Please expect to meet weekly during the initial stages of treatment. On average, it takes 8-10 treatments in order to see longterm resolution of your issue. Depending on the nature of your condition, desired health goals may be achieved sooner or later than what is typical.

Insurance
Some insurance policies cover acupuncture or massage for certain conditions and, although we don’t process insurance in our office, we are able to provide you with a receipt that has billing codes on it, which will possibly help you to be reimbursed for your treatment. You can also use an HSA or FSA card.
